A UNIQUE history path and garden which suffered a setback after it was targeted by thieves is to be officially opened.
The Path of History in Stacksteads is to be unveiled by Janet Anderson MP on Saturday, May 10 at 11.30am.
The history path and garden incorporates datestones from old schools, mills and factories from the Rossendale Valley into a garden and seating area.
The project was nearing completion when thieves made off with £360-worth of local sandstone flags in March.
Now, provision has now been made to add more datestones to the project to compensate for the theft.
It has been planned by Stacksteads Riverside Park Group as part of the Bacup Greening Project.
