THE indomitable Blues Brothers rolled into the Palace Theatre with their storming homage to soul music.
This official tribute to the film has had audiences in the West End dancing in the aisles and this version did the same.
The show opens with a comic sketch that runs as theatre-goers take to their seats and unwitting patrons may even end up being caught up in it.
Then donning trademark shades and trilbies Elwood and Jake take us through a succession of songs and the occasional sketch from the film.
Rock and roll numbers, soul blockbusters and blues' anthems are knocked out one after the other at a breathless pace.
With a high energy band in support and the incredible Bluettes, who deserve their own show, the audience is taken from Jailhouse Rock to Minnie the Moocher; Rawhide to Under the Boardwalk.
The lighting also adds to the stage show feel with scorching searchlights and moody spots, used to great effect for the real deep blues numbers.
By the end of the show the audience was up dancing and clapping, so if sing-along-a-blues shakes your tail feather slide on down for a ticket.
