THE Wildlife Trust has been working with residents, schools and community groups to brighten up Blackburn's Corporation Park.
Helpers first removed rhododendrons, a non-native plant that had taken over large areas.
Wild flowers were planted by children from St. Silas's Primary and St Mark's Brownies in their place.
The WildlifeTrust said that by removing the Rhododendrons they had made the park more open and so a safer place to walk.
Action days continue throughout the next few months. Call Daveen on 07740 419180 if interested in helping.
