Teenage motorists are being targted in a new campaign to cut the number of young people injured on the region's roads each year.
Over 4,000 16-19 year-olds were injured on Lancashire's roads last year, and young drivers face a 1 in 5 chance of having a crash within the first year of driving.
As part of the campaign Lancashire County Council's Road Safety Group have taken their 'Legal Weapon' theatre production to a number of colleges and sixth forms and distributed their new '1 in 5 information pack.
The 1 in 5 package - which consists of student and tutor packs promoting a safe and sensible approach to driving to maximise safety and reduce the number of injury and death.
Senior Road Safety Adviser, Richard Owens, explained, "With the high number of 16-19 year-olds being injured on Lancashire's roads, we wanted to produce a hard-hitting package which would reinforce a strong road safety message to young people across Lancashire."
Anyone wishing to request the 1 in 5 package should contact Diane Curwen on 01772 532960.
