SUPERLATIVE displays of skating are set against stunning effects of lasers, waterfalls and fire in the most gorgeously dressed show that is Hot Ice.
No wonder that the first night's artistic and creative performance was greeted with a standing ovation!
Olympic, world and European champions unite in a breathtaking spectacle at breakneck speeds, and pairs skaters excel themselves this year with incredibly brave feats including one where the girl is lifted horizontally into the air, spun around on a hand and then, unbelievably, on a head!
In this her 12th season, Nicky Scott, queen of the ice and with the body of a Folies Bergeres' beauty, continues to enthral her male audience. Especially for the ladies, heart-throb Oula Jaaskelainen appears for a 10th year, in a magnificent display of skills and thighs.
Yet again producer/director Amanda Thompson and choreographer Phil Winston have proved that theirs is a winning formula. Surely there's no other ice show to compare with Hot Ice for sheer originality, beauty and perfection of performance.
And more than 25 brilliantly-designed sets of stunning costumes from the flamboyant to the flimsy and the rugged to the romantic will take your breath away!
If you still believe that Blackpool Pleasure Beach is just a paradise for the kids, venture a bit further this summer to their three theatres and you will be pleasantly surprised!
But if you only get chance to visit one Blackpool show this season, make it Hot Ice.
Hot Ice, Blackpool Pleasure Beach Arena runs until November 2. Contact 0870 444 5588 for tickets.
