A MAN who demanded to be taken home after a taxi row did not get his wish -- he was taken to Burnley police station instead.
The town's magistrates had been told Kenneth Gent, 27, had been taken back to the cab office by the driver after he was driven home but refused to pay the fare.
Gent, of Ash Grove, Darwen, admitted being drunk and disorderly and was fined £70, with £60 costs. The court was told that when police were called the defendant, who smelled of drink, refused to get out of the taxi.
He used obscene language and demanded to be taken home.
Julie Reddish, prosecuting, said: "I am not sure whether that referred to the taxi driver or the police but he was taken to Burnley police station rather than home."
