FIREFIGHTERS were working throughout the morning to tackle a raging inferno of flames that gutted a Bacup mill.
The fire at Waterside Mill, off Burnley Road, is believed to have been started deliberately and investigations were started today.
Motorists were forced to find different routes to work after police closed off junctions leading to Burnley Road, closed at 5.45am while firefighters tackled the blaze.
Firefighters said small fires had been ignited on three floors of the four-storey building. The mill had recently been given planning permission to be transformed into flats.
