PUPILS at a local school were bitten by the adventure bug --on a three day residential trip to North Wales.
Thirty Year 8 pupils from Pleckgate High School, Blackburn, enjoyed a visit to Howell's School in Denbigh, where they took part in a programme of activities including quadbiking, scaling an indoor climbing wall, archery and aeroball, a combination of basketball and trampolining.
One of the main activities for the group was a Popstars programme, which involved creating and promoting a virtual pop band.
The trip, delivered by Kingswood PLC, was made possible by funding from the Government initiative Excellence in Cities, which aims to realise the potential of gifted and talented children.
Teacher Carol Sourbuts said: "We are trying to promote the idea that it it's cool to be clever."
