THE work of local nurses is being celebrated by hospitals in East Lancashire over the coming week.
To mark National Nurses Day yesterday, East Lancashire Hospitals Trust invited people to join them in Burnley town centre and also in Blackburn, at Asda on Friday, May 16, from 10am to 4pm.
The events give an opportunity to meet and chat with nursing staff and other health professionals to discuss career opportunities and return to practice.
The events are supported by local organisations who are working together to provide careers advice and other information.
Representatives from Burnley College, the Jobcentre, Connexions, and local primary care trusts were discussing career information.
The trust's director of nursing and quality, Richard Gildert, said, "This is our chance to celebrate some of the innovative work that we have done over the years. It is a great opportunity to give students, school leavers and the public an insight into the NHS."
