POLICE are appealing for witnesses in a bid to track down a gang who tied up and beat two security guards.
The balaclava-clad robbers grabbed a substantial cash haul in the attack near the Co-op Store in Queen Street, Great Harwood, on Friday at 1.30pm.
One guard was abandoned in Child Street in Clayton-le-Moors. The security van was driven to a car park in nearby Mercer Street before the robbers escaped.
DS Jim Elston said: "We are piecing together the route taken by the gang in their escape and will be formulating a full re-construction.
"We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward."
