POLICE are appealing for witnesses after five homes were burgled over a two day period.
Around £200 in cash was stolen from a house on Rock Lane in Tockholes when offenders got in through a front window.
Goods valued at £1,730 were stolen from a home on Elton Road in Belthorn, including a 22 carat gold chain and a Swiss Army watch. Police believe intruders got in through a sliding door.
Thieves broke a rear window to get into a house in Higher Lawrence Street, Darwen, where they stole computer equipment.
And burglars escaped with goods worth £836, including a microwave and a stereo system, from a house on Wood Street, Darwen. But would-be raiders made off empty handed from an attempted break-in on Birch Hall Avenue, Darwen.
Det Sgt Paul Elms of Darwen CID said: "We are looking for anyone who has seen anything suspicious around these areas to get in touch with us.
"We are also interested in hearing if anyone has been offered any of the items mentioned."
Anyone with information should contact Darwen Police on 01254 353842.
