VILLAGERS who attended the recent meeting of Cliviger Parish Council expressed concern about the removal of a section of dry stone wall in Mount Lane which has been replaced by a fence.
The council will approach Lancashire County Council about whether this is a permanent or temporary measure.
MEMBERS of the Parish Council are to get in touch with Burnley Borough Council's conservation officer about The Holme, which has been badly damaged by fire. The parish council is anxious to know what is planned for the historic building.
CLIVIGER Toddler Group meets in the village hall, Holme, on Monday and Thursday each week, between 9.30am and 11.30am. Adults with children aged 0-5 are welcome. A stimulating environment with toys, books and crafts is provided as well as a safe play area for babies. Refreshments are provided.

A GRAND Auction is to be held in Church House on Thursday, May 29, with proceeds going towards the new central heating boiler for St John's Church.

SEVERAL teams competed in a bowls tournament on Park Road on May Day Bank Holiday. The result was a win once again for Ged and Pete Bolton, with a score of 21 to 12 in the final match. Coaching sessions for would-be bowlers are planned in the near future.
MEMBERS of St John's Mothers' Union welcomed Mr and Mrs James Addison and Mr Howard Riley, members of Gideons International, to their April meeting.
The Gideons provide Bibles, in about 70 languages, for schools and hotels all over the world.
THERE is a vacancy for a councillor on Cliviger Parish Council, anyone interested in applying should write to the Clerk to the Council, 23 Burnley Road, Cliviger, by Thursday. The next meeting of the council will be the on Friday and all residents are invited to attend.
