THE latest high-tech gadgets to make life easier for the partially-sighted are on display in Bury this week.
The Bury Society for Blind and Partially-Sighted People is holding an open day. The items on show include a range of "talking" gadgets such as a jug which "speaks"' in measures, a labelling device which speaks the name of -- for example -- CD titles in a collection, lids which alert users to the contents of tins, and a colour scanner which helps users decide if clothes match. There will also be a new range of talking watches and clocks on display.
Anyone is welcome to go along between 10am and 3pm this Thursday. Staff will also be on hand at the resource centre at 36 Bolton Street, Bury (opposite the East Lancashire Railway station).
For more details, ring the centre on 0161 763 7014.
