A DECISION will be made on the building of the new health centre in the next three weeks.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council accepted outline planning permission for the centre in February.
Primary Care Trust bosses agreed the land behind the leisure centre was most suitable to home the new complex.
Three companies short-listed to build the centre have drawn up designs and costs for the development and the preferred partner is to be picked at the beginning of June.
National companies, Jarvis Primary Health Ltd, Eric Wright Group Ltd and Galliford Try plc are competing for the £11million contract.
Members of the public will get involved in the development in the coming months and will be invited to view the plans.
Matters will be finalised in September and building is expected to begin around the same time.
