A 76-YEAR-OLD man was duped out of his pension details by a bogus water board official.
The crime happened in Stonyhurst Road, Wensley Fold, between 3pm and 3.45pm on Friday.
The man knocked on the flat door and told the pensioner he had come to check his water supply.
The offender led him into the kitchen without showing any identification number and had the householder run the taps.
He than asked the elderly man for his pension number before leaving the house.
The offender was a 35-year-old white man, who was quite stocky with short, dark and straight hair and a distinctive Liverpool accent.
He was wearing a blue jumper with white writing and may have left in a white van.
