DRIVERS who want to improve their safety and road technique can take part in an advanced driving course run by the Blackburn Area Road Safety Association (BARSA).
The six-week course, based on the police driving manual, will start on May 20 and consists of weekly lectures and practical driving sessions.
Lectures examining a variety of attitudes and techniques will be held on Tuesdays at Blackburn Northern Sports Club, Pleckgate Road, from 8pm.
Practical sessions, supervised by BARSA gold badge holders, start from the Aldi supermarket car park at Ewood from 10am on Sundays.
Optional tests can be taken at the end of the course and drivers can opt to go for the BARSA gold badge test or the advanced driving test run by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents.
The course costs £20 including 12 months membership of BARSA and tests carry a separate fee. For more information call 01204 852605.
