COLOURED cricket comes to Preston at the weekend when the South Meadow lane side take on Kendal in their first round match in the Thwaites Smooth Cup.
Both teams will wear their own special coloured shirts and bottoms for the competition.
It will be the first time league clubs have worn coloured clothing in any competition in this country and has been introduced with the aim of encouraging more youngsters to watch the sport.
The players will be wearing white pads, however, so the ball will be salmon pink to avoid clashing with the pads and the shirts.
Leyland visit St Annes while Leyland Motors travel to Darwen in the same competition.
