Golborne
ease home
GOLBORNE CC's U15s first home match of the season saw them entertain Adlington, who won the toss and elected to bat.
They found scoring difficult, however, but managed to reach 34 before the fall of the first wicket in the 10th over. Wickets then began to fall, with three more in the following four overs; James Whittaker taking three wickets for four runs from his allotted four overs.
The results of the winter coaching were showing as for the second week running the bowling was very tight and the fielding sharp with only Adlington's D.Walmsley making any real contribution with 25 out of their total of 59.
When Golborne began their reply, they too found scoring difficult and with over half their overs gone had only made 27.
Captain James Carr kept one end going before falling on 14, making way for Jamie Foster who turned the game in Golborne's favour with a brisk 16 off only 8 balls including two fours from his first four balls. Man of the Match James Whittaker finished on 10 not out to see Golborne home by six wickets.
