GET ready to rock the house at Tower Blues at The Raikes, Blackpool.
The Liverpool Road pub plays host to Staffordshire-born Les Wilson and The Mighty Houserockers -- whose self-professed 'manic slide and raucous guitar licks' owe much to the blues and boogie of Hound Dog Taylor and George Thorogood and the rocking approach of Buddy Guy, Albert King, and Jimi Hendrix.
Now living in Cork, Ireland, Les has produced five albums and appeared at blues festivals all over Europe. Closer to home, he's headlined the British Blues Festival at Colne.
"Everything that Les Wilson does on stage is unpretentious and from the heart -- played like his last moments on earth. Its all about having a good time," said a band spokesman.
And Tower Blues organiser Alan Pearson said: "They've been away far too long, but Les Wilson and the boys are most definitely back in town!"
Doors open at 8pm, band on stage at 9pm. Admission £6.
