STUDENTS of Bury College have worked on special stained glass windows to commemorate 50 years of St Bernadette's Church in Whitefield.
The eight students are all church parishioners and have been commissioned by the church to create the new three-metre tall window which comprises three sections.
The window will take pride of place in the church entrance when it is completed. The first section of window was handed over to church representatives Margaret Gibbon and Jack Minihan.
Course tutor Colin Goodwin said: "This is a considerable achievement for the students involved.
"With the first panel complete, students are now working on the second panel which we hope will be finished in the next few months."
The students are studying Level One in stained glass and are crafting the windows as part of their course work.
