This week, with DAVE WORDEN, from Darwen, who helped raise £11,000 for charity by completing a sponsored bike ride to the Eiffel Tower
MEMORY: My grandad, grandma and mum all used to work at the Co-Op in School Street, Darwen. My grandad was the manager and I used to get to play in the toy department.
HOME: I lived in the same house for 26 years with my mum, dad and brother Michael. Grandma and grandad only lived 25 yards away, so I had the best of both worlds.
HOLIDAY: I went on a touring caravan holiday with my family, to just outside Windsor. Michael and I used to cycle on the country lanes every day.
SCHOOL: St James's, Darwen. My mate Dean Atherton and I used to play football for the school team under the watchful eye of Mr MacDonald.
RECORD: I might get some stick here. I would love to say Deep Purple or ELP, but Tiger Feet by Mud springs to mind.
JOB: I was a mechanical engineering apprentice at the ROF in 1979. You thought you had a job for life then. How times change!
HERO: I'm a bit like David Dunn here. My hero was my grandad, who used to follow and support any sport I competed in. His car was always first in line behind the team coach.
CAR: A white Ford Escort 1600 Sport. I never had the medallion or the furry dice, though.
BIKE RIDE: On holiday with my brother. The roads were quieter then and it was sunny every day -- well, it seemed like it.
