TIM Flowers is glad he never played against Simon Garner -- as he's sure he would have been forced to collect the ball from the back of the net.
Flowers is one of the heroes of 1995 returning to compete in Garner's testimonial tie tomorrow -- and already there are great memories flooding back for the hugely popular keeper.
"I'm really looking forward to meeting up with some old friends and seeing the supporters again," said Flowers, who recently retired from football after finishing his career at Leicester City.
"My time at Blackburn was incredible -- European adventures, Charity Shield finals and, of course, wining the title itself."
Though the pair never faced each other, Flowers is all too aware of the legacy of Blackburn's all-time leading goalscorer.
"Simon is a legend, it's as simple as that. Whenever the fans reel off their favourite players, Garns is always up there with the Shearers and the Claytons of this world.
"He was a fantastic performer and I know the only reason he didn't score against me was because he never played against me!"
The Simon Garner Testimonial Match takes place at Ewood Park tomorrow (kick-off 4pm).
Tickets are priced £12 and £6 and can be purchased right up to kick-off.
