A DIAMOND wedding couple had a visit from the Mayor of Bolton when they celebrated their big day.
Mr Thomas Lowe and his wife Myfanwy from Over Hulton, met at the Welsh Baptist Chapel in Tyldesley and married there in 1943. Mr Lowe worked at the offices of the National Coal Board for 40 years and his wife worked at Burgess and Ledward cotton mill in Walkden.
The couple have two daughters, Bronwen and Ceinnen -- their names were chosen from the the famous Welsh book How Green is My Valley -- and they have three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr and Mrs Lowe were presented with a bouquet by the retiring Mayor of Bolton Cllr John Walsh and his wife Christine
