FOREIGN Secretary and Blackburn MP Jack Straw dropped into East Lancashire Hospice to sign up to its in-house lottery.
Mr Straw received an invitation to the initial launch in January but was unable to attend because of the worsening Iraq crisis.
He sent his apologies and a promise that he would support at his earliest convenience.
Harry Grayson, lottery manager at the hospice said: "We are delighted to have secured the support of such a high-profile MP as the Foreign Secretary.
"I am grateful for the time he has taken out of his very busy schedule to endorse the lottery."
Anyone wishing to join the lottery and make a regular and vital contribution to patients and their families' quality of life, call Ann or Harry on 01254-342847.
