QUIZ buff Syd Rawcliffe is £8,000 better off after appearing on television's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
And he is poised to add to his winnings when he takes to the hot seat again on Saturday .
The 44-year-old freelance writer was seen by millions of viewers on Saturday pitting his wits against Chris Tarrant.
It was the culmination of several years of trying to get on the show for the father-of-two. Having been beaten by half a second in the first fastest finger round, Mr Rawcliffe had to wait until the man who beat him vacated the chair on £32,000.
Once in the chair, things went well and Mr Rawcliffe, of Alice Street, Accrington, soon had £8,000, but the show ran out of time, leaving him to wait until the next episode for a chance to boost his winnings.
