YOUNG dancers from across Lancashire will converge on Colne next weekend for the annual Luther Greenwood Dance Festival.
The popular two-day festival will be held in the Municipal Hall on Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, starting at 9am both days and continuing until about 8pm.
Around 70 competitors, aged five to 17 years, are expected to take part in the wide range of classes including classical ballet, modern, tap, song-and-dance, national and character.
The festival which was established in 1947 was named after the well known conductor of the Orpheus choir in Colne, Luther Greenwood, when he died.
The second part of the festival is held towards the end of the year featuring music, speech and drama.
Admission is £2.50 for each day, programmes cost 50p and refreshments are available.
