DARWEN goes 'green' this week with a host of environmentally-friendly events.
A talk on pollution and its impact is the first event, at the Barlow Institute tomorrow from 10am to noon. Members of the public will learn the importance of recycling, and top tips will be available to those who want to look after the environment.
A walk for people with learning disabilities and their carers will be held on Thursday. The 'Walk This Way Motivation Project' is also open to the public.
On the same day, group leaders will head a two-mile walk from Turton Tower, while a two-mile walk around Sunnyhurst Wood, organised by Age Concern, will take the elderly on a nature trail.
For more information on the pollution talk, contact Elaine Gillibrand on 01254 585100. For details on the walks, contact Matt Donnelly on 01254 585100 or Alison Hamer from Age Concern on 01254 266620.
