POLICE in Lancashire have ruled out any links between the murders committed by beauty salon killer Rena Salmon and her Burnley-born nephew.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph reported on Saturday how police in the county were liasing with the team investigating the death of Lorna Stewart - the pregnant lover of Salmon's husband - to establish if there was any link to the 'execution-style' murder of Burnley man Iain McKay in September 2000.
Salmon's nephew, Imtiaz Hussain, now 24, and originally from Walpole Street, was convicted of McKay's killing following a trial at Preston Crown Court in 2001. Hussain, who is the son of Salmon's half-sister, Sabeya Uddin, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
But yesterday police ruled out any possible links between the two murders.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police, said: "We're satisfied there are no evidential links between the murders. The only link there appears to be is the blood relationship."
