AN animal charity is worried by the increase in cat shootings.
The Leigh branch of the Cats Protection League is appealing to people to report the culprits responsible.
A spokesman said: "It's disgusting and is happening more and more. Someone must see what is going on."
She said vets have fought to save the back leg of a stray cat peppered with pellets in the Wigan Road area of Leigh. He was collected by the charity, treated by Vetcare and is now being fostered until a new home can be found.
The charity recently found a loving new home for a tabby and white which recovered after being shot four times in the stomach.
Anyone who can rehome an unwanted cat or help the charity in any way can contact Julia on 01942 262826 or 01942 711101
