EMMERDALE evergreen Jack Sugden and co-star Charity Tate will be in Leigh on Saturday to launch B & M Bargains new half-million pound discount store in Spinning Gate.
Large crowds are expected as the TV soap's Jack, actor Clive Hornby, and Charity (Emma Atkins), cut the ribbon at the store's grand opening at 10am.
B & M has traded from premises in Railway Road for many years but is moving to brand new premises at Spinning Gate shopping centre-- a bigger, brighter, showpiece store.
B&M's chief executive Stuart Greenwood said: "We have enjoyed a great relationship with many customers in Leigh where our Railway Road store always attracted a large number of people and performed very well.
"The move to Spinning Gate marks the start of a new era for B&M in Leigh.
"We would like to thank our many customers in the Leigh area for their loyal support. We feel confident they will enjoy the new B&M store even more."
The 13,000 sq.ft. store is part of a major expansion programme as B&M strengthens its presence in the company's traditional heartland of the North West and extends its trading footprint into the West Midlands, Humberside and the North East.
