A LOCAL drama student is looking forward to pursuing her acting career after being offered a place at the world-famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
Kate O'Flynn, 17, of Hunters Green, Holcombe Brook, Bury, is currently studying at Bury Grammar School but is setting her sights on London, where her dreams of becoming a professional actress could become a reality.
Kate is no stranger to the stage, having acted in school productions, with Summerseat Players -- where she is a well-established member of the youth group -- and in productions with the Royal Exchange youth theatre in Manchester.
In fact acting is in the blood, as Kate's mum, Clodagh, has been a member of Summerseat Players for many years.
Kate said: "I have always loved the theatre, and I'm very excited about this opportunity."
Kate had a choice of two top drama schools, but finally decided to take up the RADA offer.
She will study there for three years on a degree course before looking for professional work.
She said: "I particularly enjoy working in the theatre, but as long as I'm acting, I won't mind what kind of work I do."
