THE new Mayor of Padiham, Coun Bob Clark and the Mayoress, Mrs Hazel Rushton, attended the Mayormaking ceremony in Burnley Town Hall for Coun Lillian Clark.
On Tuesday they met the Mayoress, Mrs Jacqueline Elkington, at Burnley Town Hall and the Mayor, Coun Lillian Clark.
PADIHAM'S Mayor and Mayoress are having a Community Chest Fund as their charity. All money raised will go into it and local groups will be able to apply for funds.
THE Mayoress Mrs Christine Bond are delighted that their initiative 'Padiham Spotlight' is having a cumulative effect on the town.
Together they have cleaned litter-strewn areas and their efforts have inspired other people to clean up their own areas.
ROYALTY appeared at the Nazareth Unitarian Church last Saturday. The Pearly King and Queen of Lancashire entertain an enthusiastic audience. The church is constantly used as a community centre.
THE management of Gawthorpe Hall's restaurant are applying for a licence for the tea rooms.
WINDERMERE Estates are to rent out a shop in the centre of Padiham. They are offering a 'no deposit and three months rent free' deal on the property with full grant assistance. This is a chance both for a budding entrepreneur and the area to have one less empty shop. Inquiries to 01254 884482.
HAPTON Parish Council met last week and was attended by Paula Smith, project manager for 'Padiham Life.'
