A TEENAGER is to be committed to crown court charged with supplying drugs, after a series of raids by police.
The 16-year-old, from Accrington, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of supplying heroin, possession of crack cocaine, and assaulting a police officer.
He entered no plea when he appeared at Hyndburn Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The teenager was one of nine people before the bench after raids in the Woodnook area of town, and will appear again on Tuesday.
More than 50 police, including the support unit, dog patrols and CID, carried out the raids at 7am on Wednesday.
Mark Milton, 28, of Belfield Road, Accrington, was remanded to Burnley Crown Court after admitting seven charges including supplying crack cocaine, heroin and being concerned with the supply of heroin.
No pleas were entered for the remaining defendants.
Christopher Butler, 31, of the Woodnook area, is charged with supplying heroin and was remanded until Thursday.
Peter Cunliffe, 46, of Augusta Street, was also remanded in custody for a week, on charges of being concerned with the supply of heroin, and permitting premises to be used to supply drugs.
Jeanette Cunliffe, 39, of Clement Street, Accrington, faces 12 charges including supplying class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine. She was remanded in custody until Thursday.
Emma Patterson, 21, of Water Street, Woodnook, was bailed until Thursday, accused of supplying heroin and crack cocaine.
Colin Greenfield, 25, of Stanley Street, Woodnook, is charged with supplying heroin. He was remanded in custody for a week.
Laura Townsend, 25, and 41-year-old James Ogden, both of Clement Street, Woodnook, were bailed for a week on condition they live at home and report to Accrington police station twice a day.
Ogden is charged with supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of heroin. Townsend faces a charge of being concerned in the supply of heroin.
