IF YOU are a carer or know a carer then 'Carers Week' is just for you. A carer is someone who supports a relative, partner, or friend who cannot manage on his or her own.
This year Blackpool Social Services Carers and Direct Payments Team are involved with several events to raise awareness of Carers' issues and to give Carers a chance to get advice and 'just relax'. Events are being held in Blackpool and Carers are free to join in any or all of the events, which may be of interest (subject to availability).
Monday: Coffee Morning, Carers UK
Tues pm: An evening of relaxation and information, Progress House.
Wednesday: Bring and Buy Sale, Carers UK
Thursday: Benefits Advice, Carers UK
Friday: Time out for Carers, Workshop for Carers who work or would like to return to work, to include CV building, interview skills, confidence building and time management skills.
If you would like to attend any of the above events contact Blackpool Social Services, Carers Team, telephone number 477788.
