A MAN threatened police and paramedics who went to his assistance when he was found lying on the ground in Montague Street, Blackburn.
The town's magistrates were told that Stephen Holt appeared to be extremely drunk but defence solicitor Jonathan Taylor said Holt believed his drinks had been spiked and his GP had suggested this might have been with an amphetamine-type substance.
Holt, 26, of The Dene, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
