PROJECT manager for the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety Ian Bell (Letters, May 13) is trying to make us believe that speed cameras are really safety cameras and are there to prevent accidents and not to raise millions of pounds in fines.
Yet, in the national press it was admitted that traffic police have monthly quotas to catch motorists for the most trivial offence, thereby raising even more money.
