THE funeral of of former Shakers star Ray Parry who has died, aged 67, after a period of illness, will take place on Friday at St Andrew's Church, Over Hulton.
The inside forward was a member of the 1958 Bolton Wanderers FA Cup winning team and also won two full England caps.
He was the youngest player ever to play in the First Division in 1951 when he played for Bolton against Wolves at Burnden Park at the tender age of just 15 years and 267 days.
He was born in Derby and his brothers Jack and Cyril played for Derby and Notts Coutny.
He joined Bolton in 1951 and made his senior debut atfter playing only six games in the reserves.
He played both outside left and inside left before becoming firmly established in the inside forward position in 1955.
He left Burnden Park in October 1960 when he moved to Blackpool and four years later he was transfered to Bury where he made his debut against Bolton.
When he finished playing he became a qualified FA coach and remained in Bolton where he ran a newsagent's business.
