YOUNG entrepreneurs at a Clitheroe school have won the East Lancashire final of a top business competition with a computer car which motors around classrooms.
Their mini-firm, Odyssey, from Ribblesdale Technology College, won the Young Enterprise competition at the Mytton Fold Farm Hotel, Langho.
The youngsters have designed a "PIC" car, or programmable integrated circuit, which is run by personal computer and can perform a wide range of tasks.
It can draw shapes and angles for use in mathematics and motor around a classroom, negotiating corners and obstacles.
The youngsters established Odyssey to produce and market the car. They have also written and published a user guide and designed their own website.
Ribblesdale teacher Neil Ashworth said: "The youngsters were outstanding. They worked hard and thoroughly deserve their success. They are a class act."
Runner-up in the East Lancashire final was Moorland High, Darwen.
Odyssey now go through to the North West final of Young Enterprise at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, next month.
