CHILDREN at a school in Rossendale are preparing to learn about how their bodies work and how to take care of them, as well as about the dangers of drugs.
Staff at St Joseph's Primary School, Stacksteads, are organising for the Life Education van to visit the school and the pupils will be able to take part in daily programmes specifically designed for each age group.
The aim is to encourage youngsters to think about all aspects of health and to make positive decisions about themselves.
Programmes for older children will include discussions about drugs, the effect of a range of substances on the body and the exploration of peer pressure and influences.
Headteacher Jan Gibson said: "Life Education is a exciting and stimulating way of helping children to learn about themselves -- how their bodies work, how to take care of them and about the importance of each person's uniqueness.
"The Life Education Centre is a special environment, which uses a rage of models, audiovisual effects and electronic modules in order to make an enjoyable impact."
