WORSTHORNE Cubs will be working on a wildlife theme during June. The monthly competition for May is a word search on food and drink.

POLICE Community Support Officer for the rural area, Dave Johnson, continues to extend his contacts within Worsthorne and Hurstwood and can be contacted on 472912.
PARISH Councillor Philip Walsh is still collecting signatures regarding the Keep Worsthorne with Hurstwood Rural campaign.
A meeting of the campaign group will be called in the next couple of weeks to take stock of where things are at, and plan strategy.

SEMINARS/Workshops on Burnley's Local Plan are being held at the Vanguard Centre, Bevington Close, Off Burnham Gate, Burnley, on Friday, in connection with the Second Stage Deposit of Burnley Local Plan.
Seminar 1 commences at 1.30pm - 4pm with refreshments from 12.45pm. Seminar 2 commences at 5.30pm - 8pm with refreshments from 4.45pm. The Seminars will cover: Second Stage Deposit changes to the Local Plan; Local Plan preparation process and timetable; How to get involved at Second Stage Deposit; Preparing for involvement at the Public Local Inquiry Stage.

COUNCILLOR Mavis Hitchen has reported that the dangerous piece of metal sticking out from where the litter bin used to be outside the Chip Shop has now been removed.

at meeting
THE next meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Tuesday June 10, at 7.30pm. Jim Heyes, chairman of the Primary Care Trust, will attend to talk about the work of the Trust.
Worsthorne Bellringers will also be attending to entertain villagers. All welcome.
