A MAN attending a trades fair lost his temper in a Blackpool fish and chip shop when told to stop being rowdy.
Richard Potter attacked a woman shop assistant and kicked in the shop door.
Potter, 27, of Thomas Street, Oswaldtwistle admitted assaulting Ashleigh Richards and causing damage.
Prosecutor Kirsten McAteer said a group of men were rowdy in the shop and became abusive when asked to calm down they became abusive, shouting and swearing.
"The manager asked them to leave. The defendant went up to the manager and pushed him.
As Miss Richards came to the manager's aid the defendant punched her twice"
John McLaren, defending, said the defendant and his friends had had a drink but were not drunk.
Potter denied punching the woman. He admitted pushing the woman and said she had fallen back into a table.
Blackpool magistrates adjourned the case until June 3 to fix a date for a hearing where evidence from both prosecution and defence witnesses will be heard.
Potter was bailed.
