LOWERHOUSE suffered a massive blow to their Worsley Cup hopes when professional Ryan Harris was dismissed for just 11 last night.
Only eight overs play was possible with heavy drizzle driving the players from the field just after 7 o'clock with Lowerhouse on 25-1 after Bacup skipper Neal Wilkinson had won the toss and put the home side in.
Bacup brought fast bowler Daniel Shaw into the side for his senior debut because Terry Lord has picked up a back injury.
David Ormerod opened with three successive maidens as South Australian Harris and his opening partner Jonathan Finch struggled.
Harris opened up and hit Ormerod for six. But the Bacup bowler had his revenge the next ball, when he trapped the Lowerhouse professional in front of his stumps.
The match will continue this evening at 6.30.
The quarter-final draw will take place on tonight at the monthly League Meeting.
