DARRENERS Down Under held a reunion to share their fond memories of the town where they were born.
The four former Darwen residents, ex-members of the town's youth club, emigrated to Australia and New Zealand more than 30 years ago but got back in touch to reminisce about their youth in the town.
Colin Harwood, an ex-pupil of Sudell Road School who used to live in Progress Street, hosted the reunion at his home in South Australia where he moved in 1966.
His guests were Dave Schofield, an ex-pupil of St Joseph's who lived in Perry Street, his wife Helen, who attended Avondale school and lived in Hollins Road, and Frank Bull, formerly of Eaton Street. Frank, a former student at Darwen Tech, in Union Street, is hoping to get in touch with old friends. He can be contacted at bullsbrewery@yahoo.com
