FOOTBALL teams have one last chance to enter one of the borough's biggest sporting events.

Ramsbottom Sports Week kicks off on June 8 with a host of sports competitions taking place throughout the town and in Nuttall Park.

And the park will be the venue for the popular five-a-side football tournament starting at 6.30pm on Monday, June 9, with the preliminary rounds of the Under 9s and Under 11s competitions.

The under 14s and under 17s sections will take place on the Tuesday evening with the open age group on the following day at 6.30pm. The veterans competition will take place on June 12 and will be completed on the night.

All the other category semi-finals and finals will take place in Nuttall Park on Sunday, June 15, as part of the Festival of Sport gala day. Attractions include a fun fair, sports demonstrations, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers' paint gun range, children's races and the Vintage and Classic Car Show.

Anyone wishing to enter a football team should contact event organiser Steve Orr on 01706 82 5422 or register at 6pm in Nuttall Park on the day of each age competition.
