A GIANT community fun day will be held in Bury this weekend at the Elton Centre to support local schools.
The event, on Saturday, May 31, from 11am to 4pm, has been organised by the Bury West Area Board.
Taking part will be the police, St John Ambulance brigade, the primary and high schools, countryside rangers and other community organisations.
One special guest will be Bury FC's mascot, Robbie the Bobby.
Bury West Area Board Chair, Cllr Bob Bibby, who will release up to 500 balloons on the day as part of a special competition, said: "The day is shaping up to be great fun for all. Already we have a range of attractions from a children's bouncy castle to face painting, drama workshops, circus skills and even an owl display.
"There will be a plant stall, car wash, kids play fair together with live music and dance, even a car boot sale from 8am-11am. There is still time for other organisations to get involved."
Money raised will go to support local schools.
Businesses or other organisations who want to take part should contact area co-ordinator, John Slater, on 0161 253 6845 or e-mail J.Slater@bury.gov.uk as soon as possible.
