PRESTON are back on top of the Northern Premier League table after a victory and a winning draw last weekend.
On Saturday they claimed a 17 run victory over Kendal after posting a target of 155. Two days later they were one wicket way from defeating St Annes but the Fylde Coast side managed to hang on for 156 for nine in reply to Preston's 175.
Preston are now seven points clear of Darwen at the top after seven matches.
Leyland still prop up the table after suffering a massive 123 run defeat at the hands of local rivals Leyland Motors. The Fox Lane side were dismissed for just 79 chasing an unlikely target of 202. Their game at Chorley at was abandoned due to a waterlogged field which meant they bagged four points.
Motors couldn't repeat their form at home to Blackpool on Monday, falling to a six wicket defeat after they could only set a target of 132 despite a fine knock of 61 by Ashraf.
On Saturday Preston travel to Darwen while Leyland are at home to Netherfield and Motors visit St Annes.
