LEGAL implications of Internet trading and solutions to maintaining in-house computer networks were two of the topics explored at the latest meeting of the BuryBusiness.NETwork & UK online for Business.
Around 40 guests attended Tuesday's meeting held at the town's Bolholt Country Park Hotel. Another subject on the agenda focused on how people can maintain small complex networks without having in-house experts.
Speaker Richard Harrison of PC World described the problem and issues that many small businesses are currently facing and also highlighted solutions and options available available to them.
John M. Barker and his team from the Last Crawthra Feather Solicitors provided advice on a range of issues which included copyright, data protection, e-commerce regulations, trade marks, defamation and distance selling.
Delegates were also given Micro-Soft hints and tips by Francine Millar from Bury College's Business Solutions. These were designed to help improve office productivity.
A significant broadband implementation at one of Bury's leading hotels was outlined by Chris Robinson of local company Flexsys.
Tuesday evening's meeting also featured a representative from Business Link North Manchester, who provided information about significant funding opportunities.
