GEE-gee whizz! One lucky horse at a Blackpool sanctuary will benefit from a one-off cash gift from a company celebrating its silver jubilee.
Penny Farm horse centre at Peel, near Blackpool, could receive up to £3000 from horse security company Farmkey as the firm marks its 25th anniversary with a fund-raising drive.
Farmkey 'freezemarks' horses with an individual security branding to deter theft, and is currently donating a percentage of payment for each horse or pony freezemarked to a special jubilee fund which will cover the cost of rehabilitating one horse or pony at Penny Farm.
"We are delighted to receive such generous support from Farmkey and can't wait to see it make a real difference to the life of one of our rescued horses or ponies," said John Smales, chief executive of the International League for the Protection of Horses, which runs Penny Farm.
Peter Mills at Farmkey added that the company wanted to mark its 25th anniversary supporting the ILPH 'who carry out marvellous work to rehabilitate horses and ponies'.
