GOLBORNE CC won their first game of the season by beating Little Hulton with eight balls to spare.
Golborne won the toss and asked Little Hulton to bat. They made a good start, putting on 50 in 14 overs, but Golborne put the block on at halfway when Little Hulton were 70 for 1. The introduction of Ross into the attack had a devastating effect on Little Hulton as he proceeded to take 4 wickets for 54.
Mahmood, Little Hulton's professional, hit a quick fire 46, in support of Parry, Little Hulton's opening bat, who made 76 as they closed on 175 for 7.
In reply, Golborne opener Brunt was out without troubling the scorers in the fourth over. But Golborne made up for this with good contributions all down the order, the top scorer being Leo Cooke with 39, closely followed by captain Graham Marston on 30 and notable contributions from Tyrer (25) and Barry Greenwood (22).
