POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Atherton.
Shortly after 10am last Friday, officers were called to Lovers Lane at the junction with Cromer Avenue after two cars collided as one pulled out to pass a parked car.
The Peugeot 406, driven by a 35-year-old man from Urmston, was heading north and is believed to have pulled out when the collision occurred with a Vauxhall Corsa driven by a 78-year-old woman from Atherton.
Both drivers have been taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital. The man is receiving treatment for a fractured femur.The pensioner is being treated for a fractured neck and arm and internal bruising. Her condition is described as serious.
